Th introduction into the history of architecture is conceived as inspiration stimulating the creative process of architectural design. The subject's aim is to define the fundamental terms of the history of architecture, with emphasis being put on the significance and present potential of making use of the history of architecture. Attention is paid to the knowledge of the oldest structures, materials, social circumstances and development conditions of architecture which is then presented by examples from the respective historical periods.

Prerequisites

It is assumed background knowledge from articles history, philosophy, to the extent of secondary school. Further broad survey in subjects history art and history architecture.
