Studio work is the main and essential method of teaching architecture. It is based on the “learning by doing” method, i.e. acquiring knowledge and skills through practical application. It consists of a dialogue between the teacher and the student about the project in progress. Its theme corresponds to the module that the student at the beginning enrolled of his studies in master program “Architecture and Urbanism”.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
Completing the course, handing the whole ensemble independently developed by the project or theoretical work demonstrates comprehensive student orientation in the problems of the chosen topic that they are prepared to use the theoretical and practical skills and the present study can be applied in the conceptual architectural and urban design.
Successful mastering of the subject requires the completion of subjects taught in previous study, which put emphasis on the logic and hierarchy of indispensable information and experience needed for the work of a creative architect.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Studio work can be completed if the student continually works on the assigned design, consults the design with the work's leader, specialists from practice and representatives of public administration. He or she has the duty to submit in due time and complete the assigned work and to present it to public discussion in prescribed terms.

Gaining fundamental information on the creation of an architectural interior space, and basic orientation in the creative artistic disciplines, the role of which in architectural composition is indispensable. The information is presented by an architectural study - design and a model study (visualisation, animation), including worked out details (structural details, design details etc.].
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
The work on the studio design lasts 13 weeks, and is conducted in form of the student's consultation with the teacher. The time for consultation is set in the schedule. Excused missed teaching can be made up for by agreement with the work's leader.
