The course is aimed at improving the student's vocal expression, which may be useful in his professional career. The intended output is a partial performance of the choir at two separate concerts.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student is able to:
- sing your part flawlessly
- Include your voice dynamically and in color
- to respect the instructions of the conductor - choirmaster and to respond to his gesture (tempo, dynamics, phrasing)
- show off your performance at the concert

Prerequisites

The skills required for choral singing - musical hearing, healthy voice and knowledge of notes - are required. Everything is verified by an interview with a practical exam, which takes place on October 2, 2019 at 4 pm at JAMU, classroom 03.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The choir rehearses regularly once a week on Wednesdays from 16am to 6:15 pm at JAMU at Komenského náměstí (classroom 03) - or elsewhere else. Attendance at seminars is checked.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The evaluation is governed by the Study and Examination Regulations. Credit is awarded for fulfilled conditions of attendance, participation in the concert and active and disciplined work in exercises.

Course curriculum

The choir casting up to 24 singers allows for the training and presentation of choral compositions of various styles, styles and musical epochs. The repertoire for two concerts, pre-Christmas and summer, is being gradually studied, whose dramaturgy depends on the skills of the training body.

Aims

Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to teach the students the basics of choral singing, to perform it by vocal training, to try singing from the sheet, to learn the principles of ensemble singing, to be able to participate in collective music production and to expand the knowledge of new choral repertoire, all under professional guidance.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

To obtain the credit, it is necessary to complete at least 10 exercises in the semester. Other forms of controlled education are stipulated by the subject guarantor's regulation updated every year.
