Building Physics 2

FAST-AH007Acad. year: 2019/2020

In order to ensure protection against noise in buildings need to be addressed insulation both vertical and horizontal separation structures and cladding. The room acoustic enclosure is rated in terms of reverberation time, the urban acoustic attenuation rate in the outdoors. In addition to acoustic performance must be in the interior of the building and ensure visual comfort, ie. there must be adequate interior lighting with daylight and the insolation.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

By attending the course the students will gain basic knowledge of boundary and divisionary structures of building with respect to sound-reduction and daylighting. They will learn how to acquire the reverberation time of closed spaces (ie. rooms), how to evaluate the noise levels of parking spaces in the protected outdoor and indoor locations of buildings, as well as how to efficiently place and design the openings for with respect to daylighting design of the interiors of buildings and how to meet the demands for the insolation of residential buildings.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge from mathematic and statistic, knowledge of basics physical quantities, building materials and principle of composition of building structures with solution building details.
