The course is intended to teach soft skills in English and provide students with the basics of business English they will need in their future careers.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Kurz rozvíjí měkké dovednosti (soft skills) a poskytuje studentům základy obchodní angličtiny na úrovni B2+ (upper-inermediate – advanced) ve vztahu k jejich budoucímu zaměstnání. Důraz je kladem na mluvený projev a komunikační dovednosti.

Prerequisites

The minimum entry requirement is the 7AZ exam, i.e. the English knowledge corresponding to B1 level.

Language instruction as an extension of basic professional curriculum.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having attended the seminars actively and worked out assigned tasks. The overal evaluation reflects students' projects.

Aims

The course is aimed at delevoping soft skills with the basic business English skills students will need in their future careers at B2+ level (upper-intermediate – advanced).

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendance at seminars is compulsory and is systematically checked by the teacher. Students are allowed to miss two seminars. Regular attendance and active participation in classes are necessary conditions for taking an examination.
