The Morphological Analysis and Mechanics of Mobile Robots Undercarriadges

There is shown an overview of general relations of constructional process in engineering (creative) activities with regard to the projection and designing of new technical objects. Mobile robots (AL – MR) belong, without any doubt, to these objects and there is selected the method of Morphological Analysis (MA) as a device to analyse the future structure of AL – MR. There are analysed all basic constructional nodes, groups and components from which are Mobile Robots consisted of. The evaluation of variant solutions of new AL – MR is then pursued by the methods of multi-criterial assessment. The Attention is also devoted to basic engineering computations in mechanics of Locomotor Systems, and especially to the wheeled or omnidirectional undercarriages.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The acquired knowledge and the skills will draw on for an acceleration of the projection and the constructional works and a scientific assessment of the newly projected engineering work.

Prerequisites

Engineering knowledge of the construction, the projection and robot applications, especially in the engineering and electrical manufactures.

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline.

There is necessary to work out an assigned semestral project and defend the work in an oral examination.

Aims

The aim of the subject is to inform about modern, creative methods in search for new constructions from the area of Autonomous Locomotion robots; Mobile Robots, their analysis of variant solutions and the evaluation of the technical-economical level. There are not left out the basic problems from the field of the undercarriage design of AL; MR.

It is recommended both the attendance at lectures and the self-study of available literature and internet sources, as well as consultations with the lecturer.
