Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will gain basic knowledge that will make them capable to use system access while dealing with difficult problem situations, especially in the field of engineering.

Prerequisites

Not requested.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching is carried out through lectures that consist of interpretations of basic principles, methodology of given discipline, problems and their exemplary solutions.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Examinations consists of 2 parts: written test and oral examination. A student has to gain minimum of 70 % success to advance to oral exam.

Course curriculum

1. Systemic methodology – system theory, concepts of system and set, systemic access, systemic thought.
2. System of substantial quantities (SSQ) on object, basic concepts in system theory, systemic conception of problem situations and problems.
3. Systemic procedure at solving problems – cognitive problems, systemic conception of systemic methods.
4. Risk engineering – systemic definition (basic concepts, methododology of safety ascertainment of technical objects, categorization of defects, their consequences and collective sizes of risks, methods used in safety studies, management in the field of risk management of technical objects).
5. Modelling theory – modelling definition, modelling structure, basic characteristics and generalized model structure, generalized modelling structure, basic activities in modelling, modelling types, calculation modelling – classic calculation modelling, simulation modelling.
6. Systemic conception of experiment – systemic access to experiment – basic concepts, technical experiment phases, computer support of experiment, experiment theory, technical diagnostics.
7. Systemic conception of limit states of technical objects – definitions of basic concepts, limit states of technical objects, classification of limit states, limit states at property valuation, basic accesses to property value quantification.
8. Property value assessment by cost, yield and comparative methods.
9. Assessment of property damage amount, legislation for damages, algorithms of damage amount calculation.
10. Expert and master activities – legislation: organization of the expert activity, appointment of experts, recall of experts, evidence of experts, management and control of the expert activity, expert requirements, recruiting expert to submitting expert opinion. Expert opinion (formal and content requirements of written expert opinion).
11. Expert activity – requirements according to legislation, practical performance of the expert activity and applicable procedures in the expert activity (expert activity as information process, systemic access to solving expert problems (prime expert acts, file survey, completeness of documents, technical acceptability of documents, preparation of expert opinion finding, prerequisite expert opinion, expert opinion processing, formulations of answers).
12. Expert opinions for needs of proceedings in front of public authorities: a share of expert in providing evidence – basic concepts, common means of proof, special ways of proving in criminal proceedings, general principles of providing evidence, examination in criminal proceedings, investigative and expert experiments (preparation, execution), examination in the other types of proceedings.
13. Responsibility of cognoscente and expert for a submitted expert opinion (material responsibility, criminal responsibility of expert, administrative delicts of experts, sanctions in criminal and civil proceedings).
