The study and acquisition of contemporary knowledge of the selected topics in the field of forensic engineering with the support of the supervisor and with the help of supervisors from other specialized and scientific workplaces of the faculty, university and extra-curricular scientific and research workplaces. Defining simulation or experimental parts in the area of the dissertation topic. Publications and presentations of creative activities output. Preparation of a semester plan of visits to professional events (seminars, conferences, congresses) as well as the study or professional stays at foreign scientific and academic institutions. Further research of domestic and foreign literature on the dissertation topic. Participation in professional events. Participation in processing expert opinions of the Department of Forensic Engineering. Compulsory active participation in the doctoral conference of DFI JuFoS with a contribution to the dissertation topic.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Outputs after the second semester are, among others, other researches of domestic and foreign literature on the topic of the dissertation topic and publication of findings on the topic at least at the JuFoS doctoral conference.

Course curriculum

1st - 13th weeks: Searching and studying the professional background of theoretical, practical and scientific outputs in the area of the solved topic. Submission of the project (recommended in cooperation with a doctoral student of the 2nd year of DSP with a related topic of the dissertation). Publications. Participation in professional events. Compulsory attendance (internship) at lectures of the Forensic Eexpertise course of the specialization at the Institute of Forensic Engineering, Brno University of Technology. Possible participation in the processing of expert opinions of the Institute of Forensic Engineering. Processing and publication of a paper on the dissertation topic at the doctoral conference JuFoS, organized by IFE.
