Electrical Controlled Drives

FEKT-NERPAcad. year: 2019/2020

Electrical drive as a system, useful and disturbance couplings of the drive with environs, methods to design of drives
D.C. controlled drives, review and classification. D.C. drives with thyristor converters, speed control, adaptive control, computer control. Combined control of the speed by armature and field control. Drives with a torque - reversation, two converters' systems with its control. Drives with brushless D.C. motors. Position controlled servodrives. Drives with permanent magnets synchronous motors, drives with induction motors, scalar and vector control, drives with stepping motors

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Passed student is qualified:
- to describe in details the structure of power circuits of controlled electrical drives
- to select a proper type of an electrical machine and to join it together with a proper type of supply semiconductor converter
- to compare behaviors individual types of controlled drives
- to design structure of control loops for cotrol of the current, of the speed and of the position

Student's necessary prerequisities are knowledge of mathematics (differential equations, Laplace transform), of control theory (transfer functions, stability of feedback systems, methods how to design contrllers), of electrical machines (principle, static characteristics) and of power electronics (thyristor controlled rectifiers and transistor switch mode converters).
