Course detail
Machinery of Power Plants
FEKT-CSZEAcad. year: 2019/2020
Students become familiar with the mechanical equipments in Power Engineering. The most important part of the energy devices are energy machines that change the primary forms of energy to other usable forms, as steam boilers, steam turbines, water turbines, etc. Another group of energy machines are transformers that change the parameters of the same type of energy, such as heat exchangers, etc. The main attention is paid to the operating and energy characteristics of these devices, organization of their operation and maintenance, and issues of their effective use. The content of the course builds on the knowledge gained in the subject Technical Mechanics. The subject is a prerequisite for the subjects Nuclear energetic equipments, Electrical Power Generation, Energy use and Term Project.
