Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students get in this subject the basic knowledge and skills for the control of quality management system in construction company:
- ability to take their bearings in documentation control and to apply this control practically in construction company,
- to control the records practically in construction firm,
- ability to take their bearings in process approach based on requirements of EN ISO 9001 standard and in the basic level to apply it in construction company,
- knowledge about performing the internal audits in company and the ability to perform them in basic level,
- basic knowledge about the control of corrective and preventive actions in company,
- basic information about applying the requirements of "continuous improvement" in construction company.
- basic information about the process of certification according EN ISO 9001 standard.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of basic business economics with respect to organization and management of construction firm and construction project management.

The course is taught through lectures and self-study assignments. Attendance at lectures is optional.

Credit test,checking the knowledge received in the lectures.

1. Introduction, the term “quality” in systems of quality management (“SQM”), history of the SQM.
2. Standards EN ISO 9000 and continuing – overview.
3. Certification according to the standards ISO 9000, accrediting system in the Czech Republic and in the European Union. Legislation of the EU in the area of responsibility for the product.
4. Methods of the implementation of quality management systems.
5. Documentation management as a basic element of the SQM.
6. Duties of the management in the SQM according to the EN ISO 9001 in the building firm. The application of principles “the orientation on customers”, “the process outlook” in the building firm.
7. Sources management in the SQM according to the EN ISO 9001
8. The product realization in the SQM according to the EN ISO 9001 in the building firm.
9. The measurement, the analysis and the improving in the SQM according to the EN ISO 9001.
10. The auditing of the SQM according to the EN ISO 9001
11. Environmental management system in the civil engineering according to the EN ISO 9001
12. The quality management in the project management according to the EN ISO 9001
13. The quality management in experimental and calibration laboratories according to the EN ISO/IEC 17025. SW for the support of the quality management.

To get knowledge about development of quality management systems and about actual standards that controls their application in construction firms. To get basic information about systems of environmental and quality management in project management.
