Specialized project (S-TST)

FAST-BW055Acad. year: 2018/2019

Procedures used during the creation of a construction technology study, parts of a construction technology project involving the organization of the implementation of an assigned structure and a technical project concerning a construction process, using computer technology.
Processing of documentation for carrying out the main technical stages of construction (groundwork, foundations, rough superstructure), preparation of a time schedule and financial plan for construction work, basic conception of construction site operations. Production of documentation for organising the construction of a technical stage for a structure. Production of a technical project concerning a construction process.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will acquire knowledge and practical skills in the area of construction technology for the production of studies and selected parts of projects for the main technical stages, i.e. for given stages of construction of a structure. Students will gain knowledge needed for directing the procedure via which a structure is built, and the technical stages involved. They will be capable of proposing requirements for machines, determining the expected period of construction, and processing the documentation for the conception for building site operations. Outputs are according to the task variant assigned, which will involve the drafting of: selected parts of a construction technology-focused study of a given structure, or selected parts of the construction technology design of technical stages, or the technical design of construction sub-processes.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of proposing and designing building constructions, road structures and underground utilities. Basic knowledge of carrying out specific parts of construction processes,, their sequence and continuity, requirements for their quality. Using computer technology.

Co-requisites

Gradually gaining concurrent knowledge from the field of construction processes and machinery equipment, using the construction computer programmes and knowledge of quality control on the site.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Tuition consists of regular consultation sessions with the teacher, independent elaboration of assigned parts of a project documentation and presenting elaborated parts of the project.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The requirements for successful course completion are compulsory attendance of seminars, regular consultations regarding the progress of work on assigned parts of the construction technology course, the technical stage of a project or a technical project concerning a construction process which is being dealt with as part of the student´s bachelor’s thesis. A classified credit is awarded for the successful completion of the subject.
