Field Training (V)

The course focuses on practical skills for project preparation and research. It combines geodetic measurements with subsequent reconnaissance and exploration networks, water supply or sewerage, and the collection of the data serving as the basis for establishing the design of networks, focus and set out the main elements of common facilities in the basin with regard to erosion control basin and landscaping. The aim is to locally targeted surveys so as to meet the requirements and real communities, or serve as a basis for further scientific and technical work of the Institute. The aim of the instruction is collectively prepared report.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students learn to work with maps, project documentations, process measurement data from the field of: water supply, sewerage, wastewater treatment plant, hydraulic and hydrologie, water structures (dams, hydro power energy, levees, weirs and streamside trees and shrubs), hydropedology, hydrostatics, torrens control, water and wind erosion, objects line structures (irrigation systems, drainage facilities).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations. Presentation of the recommended computational procedures, photos and video sequences of real water objects, samples of real project documentation.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Mandatory participation in seminars at the seminars, delivery of measured data of exercises deadlines.

Syllabus

Field Training takes place on the last week of the summer semester at selected locations, that are selected by according to the orientation of individual water institutions. Field Training takes place at various institutes individually and is spread in full working week.
