Computer Networks

FP-PSIAcad. year: 2018/2019

The course focuses on the following topics: principles of communication within computer networks, designing and construction of computer networks, computer networks management.

Language of instruction

Czech

Number of ECTS credits

3

Mode of study

Not applicable.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be made familiar with basic principles of computer networks, especially in the area of their designing and structure, as well as the communication principles. After finishing the course they will be able to design a computer network and to solve problems regarding communication within computer networks, and to carry out their management.

Prerequisites

Computer literacy, knowledge of operating systems, computer networks, mathematical logic and numerical systems.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course contains lectures that explain basic principles, problems and methodology of the discipline.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The course is not concluded by a course-unit credit:
Conditions for passing an exam: Knowledge of taught topics and its practical application.
Form of examination: Combined – a written test possibly followed by an oral examination.
