3. Basic measuring instruments and methods for DC and AC measurement
4. Basic modules of electronic instruments (power supplies, filters, amplifiers)
5. Basic modules of electronic instruments (comparators, electronic switches, flip-flops)
6. Logic circuits and principles of realisation of logical functions
List of practical laboratory exercises
Exercise 1
Pacemaker
The aim of this exercise is construction of a simple pacemaker and measuring of its properties. For this exercise is detailed instruction.
Exercise 2
Simple alarm system with acoustic (varying sound) and optical indicator (flashing LED)
The aim is construction of this circuit and measuring of this property. For this exercise is detailed instruction.
Exercise 3
Automatic defibrillator (the introduction for this exercise is short presentation about defibrillators)
Practice in resuscitation by using of AED simulator ZOLL. Each student is tested.
Exercise4
EEG 1
The aim of this exercise is teach of basic function EEG apparatus from ALIEN company in order to record of EEG signal by students.
Exercise 5
EEG2
The aim of this exercise is practical record of EEG signal from subject and demonstration of biofeedback.
Exercise 6
EMG 1
The aim of this exercise is teach of basic function EMG apparatus (include stimulator) from ALIEN company in order to record of EMG signal by students.
Exercise 7
EMG2
The aim of this exercise is practical record of EMG signal from subject (native and with using of stimulator). For hygienic reason, the disposable Ag-AgCl electrodes are used.
Exercise 8
Blood pressure measurement
Blood pressure measurement by using of auscultation method, blood pressure measurement by using of automatic oscillometric apparatus. Procedure for calibration of automatic blood pressure apparatus.
Exercise 9
ECG+simulator+blod oxygen saturation measurement
Description of the ECG machine. Characterization of ECG signal variability (by using of ECG simulator), record of ECG from a subject, determination of electrical heart axis. Using of pulse oximeter, calibration of pulse oximeter by using of tester.
Exercise 10
Simple stable pulse generator for battery power supply
Construction and measuring of properties stable pulse generator with battery power supply (without necessity stabilisation of power supply)
Exercise 11
Substitute exercise
This exercise is for students which have been missing any exercise. For compensation is stated one week.

Aims

The knowledge of students will be extendt to general instruments technique. The next profit will be theoretical and practical dexterity from electrical measurement of electrical and nonelectrical quantity. The part of education is practical experience with measuring instruments and methods for DC and Ac measurement.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Extent and forms of monitored teaching is specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.
