Learning outcomes of the course unit

Review about development, reprocessing, recyclation and respectively disposal of wastes. Graduate can take position either as a manager or an operation engineer in a company dealing with waste treatment.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course uses teaching methods in the form of Lecture - 2 teaching hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

oral test, to proceed requires at least 50% of correct answers.

Aims

The students get the knowledge on the principles of the gathering, selection, transportation and further utilization or disposal of diiferent sorts of wastes. Furthermore, the students will learn about the main producers, types of waste and options in thei rtreatement, recycling, re-using or disposal. The part of the eduction includes also knowledge on mashines and devices used for waster treatment as well as the companies dealing with waste. The excusion into the selected companies are planned as a part of the waste treatment laboratory classes. To sum it up, the aim is to prepare the students to become ingineers working in the waste treatment companies.
