Transport Organisation I

The course includes theoretical and practical knowledge of all kinds of transport (road, rail, marine, air, ...). Knowledge of legislative regulation necessary for the transport and management of transport companies. A general overview of international agreements used in transport (ADR, ATP, ....). Introduction to the international trade terms INCOTERMS 2000 and INCOTERMS 2010. The course also deals with economics and technology of road transport.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

After completing this course, a student will gain knowledge related the legislation in transport and company management (e.g. Act No. 111/1994 Coll. concerning road transport, ...), international conventions, with usage in technology and operation economy.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of law in the field of transport, economy and technology for middle management of transport and forwarding company.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching is carried out through lectures and seminars. Lectures consist of interpretations of basic principles, methodology of given discipline, problems and their exemplary solutions. Seminars particularly support practical mastery of subject matter presented in lectures or assigned for individual study with the active participation of students.

Condition of course-unite credit:
Participation in seminars and 2 or 3 written papers.
Exam: written and oral part.

2. Tasks of transport in society, passenger and goods transportation, domestic and international transport.
3. Transport policy of state.
4. Structure and organization of business in transport.
5. Organization principles for division of transport of individual types.
6. Transport output of individual kinds of transport.
7. Strategy and long-term forecast.
8. Requirements of industrial and social state development versus investments and capacity of individual kinds of transport.
9. Business policy of transport, transport market, marketing in transport.
10. Price policy in transport.
11. Education and competency of workers in transport.
12. Economy of transport.
13. Public relations - image, advert in transport.

Knowledge for exercise of profession in the field of state administrative and transport and forwarding companies at level of management, pertinently in traffic survey.
