20th Century Art in Historical Context

FaVU-1u20hs-zAcad. year: 2018/2019

The course is taught by Chamonikolasová Kaliopi, PhDr., Ph.D.

The course focuses on contemporary art with the prism of historical memory. It focuses on artistic strategies whose essence are allusions to art history as the means to searching and finding of one's identity definitionl. At the same time, the course attempts to understand and "decode" the sense of the language of art and its transformation with the help of schemes and models which are based on commonly shared creative principles, cultural codes, archetypes, and iconography (mirroring, symmetry, infinity, mimesis, time, identity, spirituality, Eros and Thanatos, humor, etc...)
