Studio IV - Body Design - summer

FaVU-B4TD-LAcad. year: 2018/2019

Students focus on the realization part of their BA exam. They search for the most suitable topics and for the way of its creation with respect to its future presentation. At the same time, they submit the project of their MA studies for approval.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Prerequisite implementation of bachelor project.
Student is capable of independent work. She has already selected her theme in its basic features and slowly acquires own author's handwriting.
She can organically work with the theoretical sources of information on her subject. Likewise, she can accompany her practical artwork with a text-based supplement.
Student can also see her place in the context of art at the appropriate level. She is orientated in Czech art world.

Prerequisites

Familiarity with the principles and course of the studio.
Ability to create independent work.
The ability of verbal and visual communication.
Basics of working with computer programs for editing photos and videos.
An overview of the basic possibilities of documenting a time-determined action.
The basic ability to produce an art project.
Ability to read and understand theoretical literature in the Czech language.
Ability to write a medium-scale artistic project in writing.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The basic method is consultation.
The supplementary methods are optional for students of 8th semestr:
- workshop - focused on the practical components of creation - at least 1 per semester - eg physical exercise suitable for performance, clothing editing workshop, workshop with different materials
- guest consultations - consultation of individual projects with an invited specialist - usually before the end of the semester
- excursions - mostly in the context of a common project
- presentations of professionals - in connection with a common project
- outdoor sympozium

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

With at least 60% attendance at the consultations, the student will receive a credit.
The bachelor project will culminate as final bachelor presentation and will be commissioned by the commission.

Course curriculum

Focus on the final bachelor studio project which will be accomplished by students independently.
Regular consultation according to the individual schedule.

Learning to use one´s own artistic capacity.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Obligatory attendance at 60%.
Photographic documentation of a bachelor project.
