Studio IV - Environment - summer

The course focuses on the individual students‘ bachelors projects in contexts and media of their choice. A critical discussion on the issues defined by studentsenables them to apply appropriate theoretical frame work and to mediate them related approaches in contemporary art in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

In the summer semester of the fourth year of the bachelor's degree, students defend their artistic experience in the bachelor's project. They demonstrate the ability to choose and work with specific media. They apply their orientation in related theories and artworks.

Prerequisites

The students portfolio reveals the ability of independent artistic work not only in the school context. Students can defend and evaluated their attitudes in a broader context. At the same time, they critically owerview contemporary events in art, culture and society as well.

Course curriculum

1. Bachelor exam project
The studio work is continuously complemented with tutorials within the department or with external experts, with lectures, and field trips to exhibitions, and institutions in relation to the discussed problems. An integral part of the program is also study of literature and texts related to individual art works

Aims

Bachelor project; conscious choice and application of media of expression; the formulation and discussion of related issues; orientation in related artistic approaches; application of an appropriate theoretical discourse.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Accomplishment of the studio assignments, participation on the lectures, communication about the overview of cultural events.
