Three-day field trip to an artistically rich region in the Czech Republic, following previous consultations. Costs (accommodation, transport, and entrance fees) are paid by students, though, the possibility of a BUT scholarship will be examined.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students familiarize themselves with the art and architectural heritage of a Czech or Moravian region, they confront their knowledge with "real" historical and contemporary art and architectural works, and improve their professional presentational skills as well.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Oral and written presentation focusing on selected visited art or architectural work, 3 x 1800 signs, and 6 pages with plans, historical images and own photos.

Course curriculum

Field trip in April or May to a selected region of the Czech Republic, with previous preparation within scheduled meetings (discussing outlines of presentations, specification of their topics with regard to visited sites, etc.).

Aims

Enhancement of study of architectural history, familiarization with key art and architectural works in situ, exercise in professional oral and written presentation on selected artifacts and buildings.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Enrolled students are bound to join the field trip.
