Learning outcomes of the course unit

Knowledge of frequently used terms and products of banking and insurance and preparation for their usage in praxis.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching is carried out through lectures that consist of interpretations of basic principles, methodology of given discipline, problems and their exemplary solutions.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Two mandatory tests, the first one after banking part and the second after the insurance part. Classification is assigned as a summary of both tests.

Course curriculum

1. Introduction to bank business (financing, bank determination, bank supervision, Czech banking system).
2. Identification of clients, financial investment tools - deposit business.
3. Payment system (cash and noncash, electronic banking, payments abroad).
4. Documentary payments (bill of credit, collection of money), assurance of rate risks.
5. Credit business, guarantee exhibited by bank (types, apply for loan, apply for warranty); credit analysis, assurance of loans and risks.
6. Leasing, factoring, forfeiting.
7. Connected legal rules (No. 363/1999 Col., about Insurance; No. 38/2004 Col., about Insurance Agents; No. 37/2007 Col. about Insurance Contract).
8. Insurance theory, forms of insurance (persons, property, responsibility, travel insurance).
9. Insurance of responsibility for damage (mandatory for vehicles) and accident insurance (voluntary).
10. Insurance of real estate, insurance of movable assets.
11. Insurance of transported load.
12. Insurance of business risks.
13. Liquidation of insurance event.
