Measuring Technique

The main aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the contemporary measurement methods which are utilized in chemical engineering practise. The accent is also put on the processing and critical evaluation of results of chemical and physical quantities measurement. The lectures and seminars refer to mainly those areas: metrology, measurement errors and uncertainty, measuring instruments, measurement of electrical quantities, measurement of non electrical quantities, digitalization and digital processing of the analog data, processing and data evaluation systems, pressure measurement, temperature measurement, flow and mass flow control, liquid level measurement, measurement of concentration, optical measurements.

Students will be familiarized with measurement engineering and modern trends in this discipline.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course uses teaching methods in form of Lecture - 2 teaching hours per week, seminars - 2 teaching hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.

Classification is based on the students project and final examen.
