Supervisor
Learning outcomes of the course unit
The students should have understood some life processes on the molecular or cell level. Besides, they should have understood the evolution of the living systems, to learn their basic classification and ecology. Recquired knowledges are defined more detailed by annotation, curriculum and basic literature.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of secondary school biology and chemistry.
Co-requisites
The subject is followed by fields subjects of food chemistry, biotechnology and chemistry and technologies of environmental protection (biochemistry, microbiology, food technology, hydrobiology, food chemistry, biotechnology, molecular genetics, gene technology).
Recommended optional programme components
None.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course uses teaching methods in form of lecture (2 teaching hours per week). The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available tostudents.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
The exam is written. It is examined the understanding of the explained concepts, their relations and selected figures as well as theories.
