Laboratory project - MA II

Laboratory project following the first part in which the project theme has been selected and its solution prepared, added with excursions related to the theme. In this course, the project is solved by team work in laboratory. Tutored by expert from industry or academic staff member students realize the project, prepare final project report, present, discuss, and defend obtained results. The course also includes one project control day a practical training in team work in solving specific problem from the field of medical systems and materials. Explanation of principles of project management in research and development

Knowledge on the project realization in industry, related soft skills in team work, and knowledge of industrial relizations of selected technologies.

Pass out the courses Introduction to Medical Materials and their Applicationss and Laboratory project - MA I.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course uses teaching methods in form of specialized lab - 4 teaching hours per week. The e-learning system (LMS Moodle) is available to teachers and students.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Participation at introduction lectures. Theoretical part – basic principles of methodic procedures used in particular topic. Practical part – active participation at laboratory part according to instructions of project supervisor. Regular consultations with supervisor. Presence at control days. Elaboration of methodic part of particular topic, optimization (and validation, resp.) of used methods in the form of presentation at the seminar.

In this course, the project is solved by team work in laboratory. The course also includes one project control day a practical training in team work in solving specific problem from the field of medical systems and materials. Explanation of principles of project management in research and development. Instruction follows the part I and the schedule:
1-8: Project realization
9-11: Evaluation of results, reporting, presentation.
12-13: Excursions
Aims
Course is aimed at real practice of project realization and at practicla experience in preparing medical systems materials. Another goal is the training in project team work. Yet antoher goal is to visit technologies of industrial partners
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Presence at seminars is obligatory. Experimental work is supervised by lectors.
