The subject introduces students to mechanics of non-rigid bodies (basic cases of simple stress, strength designing of elements, combined stress), mechanics of liquids (statics, dynamics) and thermomechanics (thermal qualities of substances, thermal processes, basic thermal cycles, compressors, heat transfer, heat exchangers).
Learning outcomes of the course unit
Knowledge concerning mechanics of non-rigid bodies (basic cases of simple stress, strength designing of elements, combined stress), statics of liquids, dynamics of liquids, modeling technique, thermal qualities of substances, thermal processes, basic thermal cycles, compressors, heat transfer, heat exchangers.
The subject knowledge on the secondary school level is required.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.
Metody vyučování zahrnují přednášky a numerická cvičení. Předmět využívá e-learning.
Student odevzdává 6 samostatných prací. V numerických cvičeních jsou 2-3 průběžné testy.

The objective of the subject is to make students familiar with basic information concerning mechanics of non-rigid bodies, mechanics of liquids and thermomechanics.
