Introduction to University Study

The course focuses on:
- Realization of creative learning techniques (brainstorming, mind maps, etc.).
- Acquire basic knowledge about the work of libraries (domestic and foreign), including the acquisition of skills to orient the amount of services that libraries offer
- Acquire the skills needed for effective search and evaluation of information in electronic information resources and the Internet
- Acquiring basic knowledge needed for the creation of bibliographic citations
- Acquiring the ability to organize your documents and files
- Understand the basic principles of time management

The student will:
- Use creative techniques to improve the efficiency study
- Use for the study and practice of library information services
- Be able to search and choose quality and relevant sources of information
- Know and use their professional information sources in classical and electronic form
- Be able to effectively use a variety of search tools
- Create bibliographic citation data source used in professional work according to ISO 690
- General understanding of ethical and legal issues from the world of information and information technology
- Organize and store both physical and online documents
- Organize themselves and effectively use the time available to

Basic knowledge corresponding to the level of a school-leaving final examination at secondary school.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is setup on e-learning form of study in the Moodle system. It is divided into eight chapters that explain the basic concepts, principles and methodology of the discipline.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The credits are granted on the following conditions:
Successful completion of tests of individual chapters and elaboration of the ranking tasks, it is necessary for them to earn min. 70 points out of 100.

- Learn creative techniques to increase the effectiveness of learning
- Acquire basic knowledge about the work of libraries, the possibilities and the amount of services that libraries offer, including the acquisition of basic skills needed for their use
- Learn to work with electronic information resources (EIR)
- Learn to seek and evaluate information obtained from the Internet
- Learn how to write bibliographical references document in skilled work according to ISO 690
- Be able to organize your time and documents
