Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be introduced to possible approaches to defining of competition, competitive advantage as well as competitiveness. They will become acquainted with basic concepts of competitiveness coming out from various models of strategic management. They will be able to define certain untraditional theoretical methods for evaluating of company competitiveness and they will learn how to apply them in the practice. They will be familiarized with selected aspect of development of competitiveness in current business environment and in the process of internationalization, with the stress on the activity of company management. They will be able to define internationalization process and strategies, which can be used within the framework of this process. They will master the knowledge of theories of company internationalization. They will be introduced to the specific features of international management and marketing.

Prerequisites

The subject expects the knowledge of basic elements of management as well as processes applied. Moreover, students must be also acquainted with basic marketing terms and procedures applied in management of a company.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Lectures consist of discussion of selected topics and problems consulting and solutions.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Při hodnocení je důraz kladený na komplexní hodnocení. Zkouška probíhá buď formou obhajoby a diskuze předem připraveného projektu nebo formou diskuze k tématům odpovídajícím zaměření projektu (zadání otázek, zadání krátké případové studie, vyhodnocení poskytnutých informací apod.).
Zkouška může probíhat buď týmově (3-8 členů) nebo individuálně. Studenti si mohou zvolit, která forma jim vyhovuje. Termíny budou vypisovány pro individuální a týmové zkoušení zvlášť.
Problematika diskutovaná v rámci zkoušky bude zaměřena na oblast návrhu rozvoje existující případně nové značky. Pro návrh rozvoje je vyžadována znalost přístupů diskutovaných v předmětu RPAJ1.
Detailní specifikace témat ke zkoušce bude řešena v rámci soustředění a podklady budou vystaveny v e-learningu.
Termíny zkoušek budou v průběhu zkouškového.
Studenti musí u zkoušky prokázat znalost témat odpovídajících projektu, znalost odpovídající teorie a schopnost aplikovat tyto přístupu v kontextu položených otázek.
Tým je hodnocen jako celek a pro individuální úpravu hodnocení jsou zohledněny odpovědi členů týmu na položené otázky. Součástí hodnocení může být i vzájemné hodnocení členů týmu (v případě předem připraveného projektu), které může snížit bodové hodnocení členů týmu, kteří neodvedli odpovídající výkon – hodnotící tabulka bude v e-learningu.
Výsledná klasifikace odpovídá ECTS.

Aims

Primary objective of the subject is to define the concept of the competitiveness in the context of contemporary business environment with the stress on the internationalization activities of companies. Consequently, the content of the subject is based on the integration of both theoretical and practical knowledge related to the development of competitiveness of companies and their internationalization.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Presence in the lectures is monitored by means of the presence sheet. The condition for passing of the subject is 50 % presence in the lectures as minimum. Shall there be serious reasons (health, study stay abroad etc.), the absence can be substituted - after the agreement of the guarantee - with the elaboration of the written project in compliance with the directives of the guarantee.
