The course focuses on the development of all language competencies at B2 SERR level. It is based on materials and requirements of international English language examinations.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student uses English language as an independent user at B2 CEFR level.
He/she knows and uses language means for the description of personal qualities and mental processes.
He/she is able to list sport disciplines and discuss them in different social contexts.
He/she expresses his/her opinions on the media, especially the Internet and other electronic media and their roles in the society.
He/she gives an account of various environmental problems and explains them in different contexts.
He/she describes essential features of the scientific and technological development and its influence on lifestyle.
He/she uses grammatical structures according to the requirements of the given level and course syllabus.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of the English language at level B1 - B2 CEFR level. The student has successfully passed the course English Language B2 - 1 (AJ1BK).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in Article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.
Exercises developing communication skills in both oral and written forms.

Aims

The course is focused on the development of all language competencies needed for fluent and independent use of general English language at B2 SERR level in professional and social situations.
