Studio I - Sculpture 2 - summer

FaVU-B1S2-LAcad. year: 2017/2018

Contemporary sculpture must not be conceived only in the traditional sense of the word. A space, a space in a space, installation in a concrete space, situation and moment, or a concrete place - all these can be sculpture.
Studies concentrate on free creation with emphasis laid on the development of free thought of each individual. Students are led to search for the reasons of their creative activity inside themselves, not outside themselves, which is a source of a healthy growth of personality. Students are urged to take interest in contemporary art scene both at home and abroad. An integral part of search for oneself is natural doubts. The objective of the education is not a production of finished artists or spiritless craftsmen. Bachelor's degree studies lays emphasis on craft and some seemingly non-craft techniques, exploration of materials and technologies (from conventional ones to new media), other sources of inspiration (architecture, philosophy, poetry, nature), thinking in context - defining one's own space, surrounding space, communication of spaces, formulating one's own idea in words, which teaches them the ability to defend their work in public.
