As part of the summer semester, the students get more deeply acquainted with the skills necessary for study in the studio which leads to the development of the basic knowledge. Students come from different backgrounds - after previous studies - hence the double semester of the first year is kind of preparations - zero year - to become the basis of artistic communication. Emphasis is placed along with the practical and theoretical aspects of learning and teaching also aims to develop autonomous artistic approach of individual students. It is expected that students newly acquired practices will reflect in the solution of the task at the end of the summer semester. A graduate of the first year of video studio should therefore be able to think independently when working on assigned tasks and should be comprehensively educated artist who actively communicates with current ideas in the field of contemporary art.
