Studio I - Body Design - summer

The theme of SENSES. Deeper insight in the level of self-portrait. Encounter with exact intimate perceptions. The process of self-censorship, control, opening up. Common studio theme: COMMUNICATION/ISOLATION - clash with outer environment, confrontation.

Aims

Students make a transtition from secondary-school style of receiving given ideas to independent university level thinking about art. They will get an overall idea of the role of artist in contemporary society and the situation of contemporary art. They will be introduced to interdisciplinary approach to art concerned with human body: sociology, gender studies, medicine, biotechnology, etc...
