Information Literacy 2

The course "Information Literacy 2" (the IV) is an e-learning course for Master degree students. Great emphasis is placed on the teaching of information resources that students can use for study and research. Students will also learn the basics of scientific writing, while respecting the ethical and copyright requirements.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

To get the credit, students must meet both of the following conditions: finish all assignments and tests and obtain the sum of at least 70 points from all tests and written assignments (at least 70 points out of 100).

Aims

To be information literate means to realize when and why you need information, to be able to find relevant information, to learn how to recognize quality information and to be able to use and process the information. The aim of this course is to learn how to realise and understand the information need, to navigate through the available information sources, to find information in these resources, to understand the quality of results, to be able to correctly process the results, and learn how to responsibly and ethically use and share information.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

E-learning course, no controlled attendance at lectures. Knowledge of students is checked by written assignments and tests. To get the credit students need to obtain 70 points out of 100.
