Quality Management and Checking

The course deals with the basic concepts in the field of quality, construction quality systems in the Organization, the importance of quality in the economy podniku.jakosti products and services. Students are familiar with the role of ISO, EN, ČSN management systems and an overview of modern methods of quality assurance. The course also deals with the problems of metrology and testing.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student is able to:
- define the basic concepts of quality,
- describe the metrology system in the Czech Republic and abroad,
- explain the issue of normalization in the Czech Republic and abroad,
- describe the construction of a quality system in the company, the quality system documentation, quality costs, audits,
- explain the issue of quality system certification, product certification,
- explain the issue audits in the company.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Techning methods include lectures, computer laboratories and practical
laboratories. Students have to write a single project/assignment during the course.

Written test.

Course curriculum

1.Význam and concepts of quality. Policy and quality objectives. Understanding, application and enforcement of the quality policy. Management's responsibility.
2. Creating a quality system. Overview of approaches to quality. Procedures for establishing the quality system. Fulfillment of quality requirements. Quality as a factor in the success of the company.
3. Control of documents and data. Approval and issuance of documents and data. Changes to documents and data.
4. The role of supervisory authorities in the Czech market. Accreditation of testing laboratories and certification bodies. Status of the quality management system in the Czech Republic and the European Union.
5. Identification and traceability of the product in accordance with the standards of the IEC, ISO and EN standards. Management quality. Technical requirements for products.
6. Management. Identifying and planning for production, installation and servicing of the product.
7. Inspection and testing. Input, process and output control and testing. Records of inspection and testing.
8. Management, calibration and maintenance of inspection, measuring and test equipment.
9. Control of nonconforming product. Review and settlement of non-conforming product. Corrective and preventive actions.
10. Handling, storage, packaging, preservation and delivery of product.
11. Internal quality audits. Planning and conduct of internal audits.
12. Statistical methods for determining and regulating the verification process capability and quality characteristics.
13. Legislative state intervention in the quality management system - standardization, metrology and testing.

Aims

Aim of the course is to make student acquired with problems of implementation of quality control system in an electrotechnical production, legislation in the Czech Republic and in EU.

The content and forms of instruction in the evaluated course are specified by a regulation issued by the lecturer responsible for the course and updated for every academic year.

Meaning and conception of quality in the Czech Republic and in abroad, basic features.
Accesses to ensuring of quality of products and services. State legislative interventions to quality control system - standardization, metrology and testing.
Technical requirements for products. Law and foods. Quality and protection of customer.
Role of check authorities in Czech market. Accreditation of testing laboratories and certification bodies.
Quality ensuring in marketing, in pre-production preparation, in supplying, in production and its controlling. Quality protection after production.
Quality verification. Metrological ensuring of quality. Quality and logistics.
Basic features of TQM (Total Quality Management), summary of modern accesses according to TQM recommendations.
Role of ISO, EN and ČSN standards in control systems, ISO 9000 access against TQM access.
Tools for quality regulation in EU. Information system of EU demands and its using in the Czech Republic.
Improving as basic principle of quality management.
Methodology of improving. Tools of management and quality control.
Methods and techniques of quality optimization and failure prevention.
Quality as factor of company success.
