Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will command basic grammar rules: past simple tense, present continuous, "there is/are", "there was/were", comparative adjectives, "going to", expressing the quantity of countable and uncountable nouns.
They will command vocabulary at the elementary level.
The target level according to the CEFR is A1.

Prerequisites

Basic vocabulary from the first part of the textbook, verb forms of "to be", present simple, question and negative, adverbs of frequency, personal pronouns, possesive pronouns, possesive adjectives, object pronouns, the modal verb "can"

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Grammar and vocabulary are practised in an interactive way, with emphasis on conversation. Communication and listening skills are developed using interactive audio-visual technologies.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

To obtain the credits, students have to attend classes regularly (max. 3 absences/semester), do homework and participate in the lessons actively.
