Institute of Structural Economics and Management (EKR)

Students will gain knowledge and skills in the field of work, materials and machines in building industry. They acquire basic knowledge and skills on wages and salaries and about their structure and calculation. They learn how to work with statistical classifications used in construction. They elaborate case study on standardization of work and wages in selected construction company.

Knowledge of construction technology and labour problems. Knowledge of fundamental construction firm economy with respect to production. Knowledge of production factors and working system with respect to labour, machinery, equipment and material in civil engineering.

Basic knowledge about economy of company and about technology of structural works.

The course is taught through lectures, practical classes and self-study assignments. Attendance at lectures is optional, but attendance at classes is compulsory.

The evaluation is complex and multi-criterial. Students earn points during the term. The attendance, case study and a written test are scored in the exercise. The activity is scored in the lectures during the term. The exam consists of a written test(maximum 60 points), written answers to questions (maximum 10 points) and oral examination (maximum 10 points). To get knowledge about labour engineering and economy of work in civil engineering, espe-cially knowledge and basic skills of work, material, machines and equipment standardization and of remuneration and wages with respect to construction industry. To acquire practical experience at case study processing about standardization and remuneration in concrete con-struction firm. To acquire skills about practical use of statistical classification and coding for further work with information in civil engineering.
