CAD Systems

Basics of Computer Graphics, vector editors.
CAD systems facilities for 2D documentation design (drawing, editing, dimensioning, blocks, layers, drawing output).
Practical working knowledge of standard CAD systems for documentation design.
Introduction into 3D modelling.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Basic knowledge about CAD (Computer Aided Design) systems. Create two-dimensional documentation for architecture and civil engineering. Create annotation objects (texts, dimensions, leaders). Create output using layout by specific scale.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge and using of operation system, especially filesystem, basic knowledge of principles of computer graphics.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through practical classes and self-study assignments. Attendance at practical classes is compulsory.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Condition of adequate attendance (max two absences). Continuous work at custom model of the plain view and final drawing and final drawing with applied tools for drawing, annotate and print.

Course curriculum

1. Basics of computer graphics, raster and vector graphic editors.
2. CAD systems, classification, basics of operating.
3-4. Coordinate systems, coordinates entering, basic drawing commands.
5-6. Advanced drawing commands, text, hatch.
7-9. Drawing entity editing.
10. Advanced commands for objects manipulations.
11. Dimensioning. Blocks and layers.
12. Output of drawing. Scaling, periferal devices, limits. Final 2D documentation.
13. 3D modelling introduction.

Individual design of 2D drawing building documentation.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
