Specialized Project I

FAST-BH56Acad. year: 2013/2014

The course deals with the completion of a documentation of residential, civil or industrial objects - a newly designed building or a building reconstruction. The project is completed as a professional documentation for the planning permission. In this project the emphasis is layed on the layout space arrangement in a accordance with assessment of stability of load bearing structures, fire safety of the building, noise protection and energy saving demands. Drawings are completed in CAD programmes.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The aim of the subject is preparing for individual work and instruction to application of obtained information for achievement of practical output of documentation for buildings of middle-sized range. The results are the ability to the student to complete the design of buildings - disposition, structural design, architectural concept and graphical presentation in accordance with valid standards.

Prerequisites

Students shall have completed courses of Civil Engineering, depending on the study program. Orientation in legislation and mandatory part of EN, ISO - for individual disciplines (typology, statics, concrete and steel structures, fire safety, building materials.

Co-requisites

Building physics, building materials

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The teaching of the subject consists in leadership a student to self work in consultation with teacher and to the defense of proposed solutions according to the instructions of the teacher.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The basis for the evaluation is the comprehensiveness and correctness the elaboration of project documentation of building.

Course curriculum

1.-8. Architectonical design - situation layout, plans, sections, elevations, technical report.
9. Structural design – preliminary design of structural components.
10. Fire protection of a designed building – the special part of the technical report.
11. Building physics demands (U values of constructions, energy consumption balance, airborne and impact sound insulation, building insolation and daylighting - daylight factor).
12. Technical services in buildings (water supply, sanitation equipment, heating and ventilation systems, etc.).
13. Building appraisal (economic indicators for the design building in Eur/m3, Eur/m2).
