Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student is able to understand the main topics in a text standardly produced provided the text covers daily topics and topics the student is acquainted with. It could be work, studies or leisure activities. Since the student is able to deal with standard situations, it shouldn´t be a problem to spend time in a Italian speaking environment. The student is able to produce texts whose content deals with daily issues or issues the student is acquainted with. The student is able to provide details on the topics and provide a more detailed description even when expressing abstract ideas. The student reaches level B1- according to EFR.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods


Grammar and vocabulary is practised in an ineractive way, with emphasis on conversation. Development of communication and listening skills using interactive audio-visual technologies.


Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

To be able to get their credits, students need to attend vlase regulary (max. 3 absences/semester), do homework and actively participate in the lessons.

Course curriculum

1. U8: object pronouns; shopping in a supermarket.
2. U8: object pronouns in passato prossimo (I).
3. U8: object pronouns with modal verbs; types of shops, typical Italian products.
4. U9: reflexive verbs; shopping- size, colour, payement.
5. U9: reflexive verbs in passato prossimo; clothes.
6. U9: impersonal form; Italian fashion.
7. U10: personal pronouns; TV
8. U10: personal pronouns in passato prossimo (II); expressing wishes.
9. U10: imperative, pronouns in imperative; orientation in a city, Italian TV and press.
10. U11: present conditional form; at the concert.
11. U11: past conditional form; expressing an opinion.
12. U11: if-clause, expressing future in past; music, Italian music.

Mastering vocabulary to the extent of 1000 words, intermediate level of grammar.
Reading skills, translating texts with intermediate difficulty, communication and writing skills about everyday topics.
