Original Abstract

In our contribution, we will demonstrate the possible difference of the structural element reliability according to the behaviour under tension and buckling. For both problems, the choice of an appropriate method of permanent and variable load combination, and verification of values of partial reliability factors recommended in specified provisions will be discussed. We will show that the steel of one strength class should be defined not only by its characteristic value but also by its prescribed variation coefficient and by minimum skewness of yield strength distribution.
