Original Abstract

The results of experimental research of the material and geometrical characteristic of Czech steel are given in the presented paper. The yield strength, tensile strength and ducility were evaluated statistically. For rolled steel IPE profiles, also geometrical characteristics of cross-section dimensions were evaluated statistically. It has been proved that material and geometrical characteristics both of plates and rolled IPE profiles are satisfactory. The application of material safety factor 1.0 is discussed, as well. The problems are discussed also in connection with application in stochastic computations. For this purpose, also correlation coefficients among the quantities measured were investigated.
