Original Abstract

The size of the Observability Area has crucial impact on the accuracy of the EMS applications especially on the Contingency Analysis, since the reduced model of the OA does not fully reflect the change in power flow invoked by a contingency in the abroad areas. This paper aims to provide a methodology, which allows performing of contingency analysis with the desired accuracy. The proposed methodology is applied on the real EMS model used in the ČEPS, a.s. dispatch control system.
