Original Abstract

This paper introduces a new algorithm which reduces aliasing artifacts in the shadow mapping algorithm. Our method extends the Dual-Paraboloid mapping algorithm that renders shadows cast from omnidirectional light source. We introduce skewed paraboloid cut which increases a density of sampling in a certain part of the shadow map. The parameters of the mapping can be adjusted such that the dense sampling covers image regions where high detail is required.
