Original Abstract

Paper deals with optimal shape of the magnets in terms of used magnet material and geometry optimization. First, electro-magnetic design of the original machine was analyzed based on the FEM. Second, used material NdFeB of the original machine was replaced by SmCo and the main geometry of the magnet was tuned and optimized. Moreover, the magnet losses were also calculated and compared with the original machine. Finally, the optimization techniques were performed.
