Original Abstract

Neurologists are looking for connections between simultaneous EEG and fMRI data, trying to take advantages of both methods. EEG gives them a very good time resolution of the neuronal activity, while a great spatial resolution is provided by the MRI scanner, when the BOLD signal is measured. The analysis of fMRI images is mostly evaluated by the computer program Statistical Parametric Mapping (SPM). The EEG regressor builder is a software which was created in this study. It loads, processes and joins together parameters of simultaneous EEG and fMRI data into the analysis of the SPM. It is intended to help neurologists to preprocess EEG signals or it can make the whole analysis automatically. The second part of the study compares results from published analyses with the results calculated by the EEG regressor builder. The processed data was measured in St. Anne's University Hospital, Brno at First Department of Neurology.

Neurologové hledají souvislosti mezi simultánně měřenými EEG a fMRI ve snaze využít výhod každé metody. EEG poskytuje velmi dobré časové rozlišení v měření neuronální aktivity, zatímco dobré prostorové rozlišení je dáno MRI tomografem, který měří BOLD signál. Analýza fMRI dat je obvykle realizována pomocí softwaru SPM. V této práci byl mimo jiné vytvořen software EEG regressor builder, který zpracovává a spojuje parametry simultánních dat a přivádí je k analýze v softwaru SPM. Software by měl být nápomocný neurologům automaticky zpracovávát EEG data pro simultánní analýzu. Druhá část práce se věnuje porovnání výsledků publikovaných analýz a výsledků získaných pomocí EEG regressor builderu. Zpracovávaná data jsou poskytnuta 1. neurologickou klinikou Fakultní nemocnice u sv. Anny.
