Original Abstract

The paper deals with measurement of Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) and Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) images of images of isotropic and anisotropic materials by using NMR methods. We studied differences between the tensor determined from the sample of an isotropic and an anisotropic material; we compared the results with the theoretical knowledge. As a sample of isotropic material, we used a physiological solution (saline). As a sample of anisotropic material we used plants-cabbage. For measurement of DWI and DTI images, we applied a widely used method of measuring | the Pulse Filed Gradient Spin Echo (PFGSE). The experiments were carried out on an MR tomograph system 4.7 T/120mm (i.e., 200MHz for 1H nuclei). Actively shielded gradient coils yield a maximum gradient field magnitude of 180 mT/m. The data measured were processed in the MAREVISI and MATLAB programs.
