The aim of this paper is to present some results of research on behaviour of high-performance concrete filled steel tubular columns. The focus of the resolution is to enhance of the buckling resistance while an efficient utilization of materials (steel and concrete). Especially the effect of the concrete strength and the yield stress of the steel tube on the buckling strength are investigated. Attention is paid to the circular tubes.
