Original Abstract

This paper is concerned with the comparison of the computational and experimental results of the hip joint endoprosthesis ceramic head and stem cone self-adhesive connection. During the experiment according the ISO 7206-5 there were measured the tangential strain on the lower part of the head’s sphere and vertically head displacement. The system FEM ANSYS was used for the computational modelling of the system deformation and stresses. The measured shape deflections from ideal cone shapes (from IMS UMPIRE device) were implemented to the FEM model. The comparison of the computational and experimental data were realised for variants with the smooth and teethless stem.
