Original Abstract

The paper presents the results of the computational modelling of the stress states in the ceramic head of the hip joint endoprosthesis. The analysed system is loaded according the ISO 7206-5, the connection between the head and the stem is realised by the self-adhesive cone joint. 3D shape deflections of the mentioned cone areas are considered in the analysed systems. The values of the shape deflections were obtained from the measure device IMS UMPIRE (deflections from the roundness in each measured point of the cone areas and the global shape deflection – conicity of the cone). These measured values were implemented to FEM model. The stress and reliability analyses follow. The values of maximum tensile stresses in the head and head’s fracture probability curves create dispersion for random head putting on the stem cone.
