Original Abstract

The paper deals with a time analysis of PERT network diagrams. The paper focuses on the comparison of two different approaches when analyzing node criticality. A hypothesis is formed for this purpose. A sample PERT network diagram was examined, which comprised 9 nodes and 14 activities. For the purpose of the analysis, the basic characteristic times were calculated in accordance with traditional approaches related to the PERT method. Subsequently calculated probabilities were tested using mathematical statistics (hypothesis testing). It follows from the analysis that there is no statistically important difference in the results of the two approaches.

Keywords

PERT method, node criticality, mean value, variance.
